3. Federal Housing Administration Announces Changes to the 203(k) Program

What's the 203(k) Program? The 203(k) rehabilitation mortgage insurance loan program offers low-to-moderate-income buyers financing to upgrade their homes.

What Changes Did They Make?

Increase the maximum cost of the limited 203(k) program from $35,000 to $75,000.
Extend the rehabilitation period for the standard loan to 12 months.
Increase the number of months of financeable mortgage payment reserves.
