NJ Realtors® Advocates for Ordinance Repeal in Toms River

Toms River experienced real estate transaction delays and saw some of the highest Certificate of Occupancy fees in the state, due to the town's requirement to obtain a Municipal Certificate of Continued Use and Occupancy when a home is sold. New Jersey Realtors® worked with local Realtors® and our local board in the area to advocate for a full repeal.

The repeal process has just begun, with the Toms River Mayor suspending enforcement of the MCCUO requirements until the Council formally repeals it, which is expected at an upcoming town council meeting.

Now, more than ever, we must use our collective voices as a united organization. Our association has been in place for more than 100 years, and New Jersey Realtors® will continue to have a powerful voice in shaping public policy, resulting in transparent and competitive marketplaces, satisfied clients, and stronger communities.
