NAR Advocates for Homebuyer Affordability
This week, NAR released a statement explaining its current initiatives surrounding loan level pricing adjustments. At the beginning of this year, the Federal Housing Finance Agency directed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to change their LLPAs which resulted in higher fees for borrowers with higher credit scores.
Lenders are required to comply with the changes started May 1 and NAR continues to urge the FHFA to rescind the raised fees as affordability concerns are already plaguing homeowners nationwide.
