At a meeting in late September, the Kenilworth Borough Council adopted a new land use ordinance, which included changes requested by members of the North Central Jersey Association of Realtors® and supported by New Jersey Realtors®.
Among the changes contained in the ordinance is that Realtors® do not have to obtain permits to place their for-sale signs in Kenilworth and that they do not have to be smaller than the typical for-sale sign. In addition, sold signs will continue to be allowed in Kenilworth. In the original version of the ordinance, permits were required to place for-sale signs and sold sign riders would have been prohibited in Kenilworth. After learning of this, NCJAR and New Jersey Realtors® worked with Mayor Fred Pugliese and the Borough Council to ensure these proposed changes were amended so Realtors® can continue to market homes in Kenilworth as they have done for years.
